Laser engraving: how it works and its advantages

Cutting, engraving, and marking of objects can also be done with гравировка алюминия лазером  technology with excellent results. Moreover, with the laser you can remove small quantities of material from objects – thereby making an incision – or even to cut metals of different thicknesses, allowing you to achieve precise results and specific aesthetic effects in a short period of time, without risking to damage or deform the different parts of the treated object.

The process of laser marking

It uses the laser’s unique properties to provide precisely and quickly marked results: the laser beam, emitted by the marking machine, is actually focused on a small part of your object. The laser beam transfers energy to the materials that compose the object in the form of heat. So, an incision is made, the depth of which can be adjusted depending on the need.

If the object is to be engraved deeply rather than superficially, it is possible to increase the intensity of the laser beam and lengthen the time the object is exposed to the beam. As a result, a real excavation will result, unlike the markings produced with other mechanical means, which may be small in diameter, but deep nonetheless.

Finally, the same technique can be used to cut metal by passing the laser beam repeatedly over the same surface area. As such, a cut can be produced by removing increasingly larger amounts of material.

With laser engravers, thin engravings can be obtained, delicate parts of objects can be engraved, and surfaces that are difficult to reach with traditional engraving tools can be engraved using the laser. Despite this, laser engraving’s potential extends further: using this technology, in conjunction with specialized software, can produce amazing aesthetic results. Since the laser beam, which hits the metal, can be calibrated for this function, it is possible to create bas-reliefs with variable depths or even to change the color of the starting material.

Laser marking is the best way to mark

There are numerous advantages to laser marking, since this technology allows for flawless aesthetic results. Using a laser, the incision or marking can be accomplished in a precise, permanent manner, without leaving any smudges or abrasions at the treated surface. Thus, even precious and delicate objects can be treated without having to worry about causing damage to them. This allows to obtain extremely “clean” results with a high level of resolution.

In addition to reducing processing times, laser marking is an undeniable advantage. Lasers can engrave materials quickly, and if the marking machine is equipped with appropriate software, the production speed and variety of processes available to customers can increase significantly for the company that uses it. Furthermore, by using the power of the beam, the laser can also treat objects and materials that are normally hard to treat, as well as materials resistant to engraving. Furthermore, laser marking allows to obtain long-lasting results: the marked objects are neither corroded or damaged, and their engraving therefore always remains clear and visible, as required by the quality standards governing industrial production.
