Demolition of Leon County Schools’ old SAIL, Lincoln buildings begins

Commencing this week, all that is remaining of a historic faculty campus-turned-security hazard is higher school memories.

Heavy machinery started demolishing the outdated SAIL Significant School structures on Macomb Avenue on Thursday morning.

Previous college student Robert Alexander Lee identified as the demolition “heartbreaking.”

The previous buildings of SAIL High School, now positioned on Jackson Bluff Street, have been sitting down empty because 2007, said faculty board member Rosanne Wood, the previous principal of SAIL.
