Let’s guess the rent.
Sorry. We’re not touring an Classical Revival mansion this week. Instead we are taking a trip up to the historic Monte Vista neighborhood near San Antonio College for this 450-sqaure-foot house being billed as a studio apartment.
That’s small but you might be surprised how much the landlord has been able to fit into the space. The listing says the place is perfect for a “responsible student,” but is also asking for the tenant to show proof of income that is three times the monthly rent.
“Responsible student” might be doing a lot of work once you see the rent.
Let’s dive in.
The kitchen is immediately to your left.

The landlord even found a space for a washer and dryer.

You can literally swing around to find your living room space with what looks like a wardrobe and a couch.

This is probably one this studio apartment’s biggest selling points.
CraigslistThen we get to this final piece of the studio apartment. It’s definitely cozy in a strawberry lemonade type of way. But will the rent topple that feeling?
The monthly rent is $1,000, according to the post on Craigslist. The listing is also on Zillow, which means it’s on the multiple listing service, so it’s legitimate.
The address is undisclosed on both listings, but on Craigslist it says the apartment is not far from restaurants like Barbaro and La Fonda.
Here’s the other kicker, with the security deposit, application fee, administrative fee (?) and first month’s rent due on move in, the first month’s payment is $2,500.
Zumper says studio apartments in the Monte Vista go for an average of $799 a month.
